The Myftari Trio includes violinist Brunilda Myftari, pianist Gary Chapman, and cellist Eric Dahlin.
Myftari, a native of Albania has had many successes in and out of her country. She has won several prizes, including first prize in the van Rooy competition, the Emerson String Quartet Competition and the Trinity Church auditions in New York City. Myftari is an active recitalist, with appearances across the United States and in Europe and is a faculty member of the Hartt Community Division.
Chapman has appeared as soloist with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Connecticut Orchestra at Summer Music, as well as with the Yale, Bridgeport, Manchester, and Waterbury Symphonies. Chapman is also a serious jazz musician who tours internationally with Elite Syncopation.
Dahlin was born into a musical family in Minneapolis, Minn. Pursuing his interest in chamber music, Eric studied with members of the Emerson Quartet at The Hartt School and at Yale. As a member of the St. Ronin String Quartet, he worked closely with the Tokyo String Quartet. Dahlin is assistant principal cellist of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Connecticut Opera Orchestra and is on the faculty of The Hartt School Community Division.
