As the Simsbury Chamber Music Festival enters its seventh season, we invite you to attend our four-concert series held every Tuesday evening in May. The line-up for the 2009 season is as follows:
This year the Festival’s will be at Simsbury’s First Church, located at 689 Hopmeadow St. (Route 10/202). Doors will open at 7pm and concerts will begin at 7:30pm. This year's performances will feature talented, passionate musicians and a wide array of instruments ranging from traditional strings - violin, viola, cello, and guitar to piano, saxaphone, flute, clarinet and even an exotic South American folk instrument called the charango. Be sure to join us downstairs in the church's meeting hall after each performance for our wildly popular "Meet & Greet the Artists". Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will provided to cap off a perfect evening!
The Simsbury Chamber Music Festival was co-founded in 2002 by musicians Scott Hill and Carlos Boltes and Simsbury residents Rich Correia and Ted Vogt as a not for profit, all volunteer, community-based organization, dedicated to bringing artistic and musical experiences directly to the residents of the Farmington Valley. Co-founder Rich Correia says “The Simsbury Chamber Music Festival will bring audiences to Simsbury to enjoy springtime weather, music, and food…ultimately promoting Simsbury as a cultural destination and drawing patrons to downtown businesses and restaurants.”
The 2009 Simsbury Chamber Music Festival promises to surpass the previous seasons! Remember to mark the concert dates on your calendar and bring friends and family to enjoy Simbury's springtime tradition - The Simsbury Chamber Music Festival!
